Thousands of people get parking tickets each day. A small percentage of those people bother to contest the validity of their parking tickets. An even smaller percentage bother appealing their tickets all the way to a hearing. That’s where I come in. I am an administrative hearing adjudicator (or “parking ticket judge,” if you prefer), and I preside over these cases.
Every workday, honest (and dishonest) citizens come before me to explain why they should not have to pay their parking tickets. I hear excuses and defenses that span the full spectrum of sanity, from the banal to the unlikely to the preposterous. This blog showcases the most ridiculous and/or difficult of these.
